Santa and the matching wrapping paper.

I think I need to buy some new wrapping paper. On Christmas morning, Katelyn asked me why Santa uses the same wrapping as we used! LOL.

My morning cup of nothing.

I've given up coffee...........not by choice but for medical reasons. Thanks to a stomach ulcer I can't even drink one sip without wanting to puke! Surprisingly, it hasn't been that difficult to give up coffee. I am usually just dragging by in the afternoons, feeling like I have crashed however the past few days I haven't felt like that. My stomach is starting to feel better too! I do miss sitting in the recliner, feet up and enjoying a hot cup of illy coffee but that's a thing of the past.

The Never Ending Roll of Wrapping Paper

This is the third Christmas that I am using a particular roll of wrapping paper. The roll just doesn't seem to end! I ran out of scotch tape before this roll was halfway done. I thought it was a bargain buying the roll from Costco and it was but I am getting tired of using the same wrapping for everything. I have bought a lot of gifts the past few holiday seasons so many gifts have been wrapped and I think next year the roll may finally finish! Now if they could only make a never ending roll of toilet paper then it would all be good.

I went through the Tim Horton's Drive Thru on my way to work this afternoon......it was about two hours after that when my tummy was growling had I realised that I forgot my bagel. I paid for it and got my coffee and drove away! LOL. I remember paying for both the bagel and coffee, just forgot to stay for my bagel. I am sure I am not the first person who has done this nor the last!

Online Ordering

I ordered some books from Amazon on November 4th and they still have not shipped! Grrrrrr. I can be impatient at times, something I don't like about myself. I chose the free shipping so I guess I have to wait until all the books are ready so they can be sent in one shipment. Two of the books have a wait of one to four months! Yikes. I can't wait for my Rebar cookbook and Gluten-free, Sugar-free cooking books to arrive. I have dairy and wheat allergies and I am running out of ideas for food! It is getting tiring eating the same thing everyday. Yup, I know I could have gone to the book store here and just bought the books right away but I ordered some books for my kids as well and the book store didn't have them. They could have ordered them for me but either way I would have to wait!

Perspective

Earlier today I was sitting on the floor of the family room putting away some of the girls toys. They were busy playing and walked past me and K said to T, "look, there is the cleaner upper". I felt rather insulted that is what I was referred to. They are kids and they do make a mess however I think it is time that they now start putting their toys away. We'll see how it goes tonight!

I went out shopping this morning and T and I came home to a very nice surprise. There was a beautiful arrangement of two dozen of the most gorgeous red roses and a dozen carnations in a vase. I honestly thought it was delivered to the wrong house! My birthday isn't until next month, there is nothing special going on right now. I opened the card and it was addressed to K, T and myslef. My husband's employer sent them thanking us for our patience while they opened up the local office. What a sweet gesture!

Light Bulbs and Home Renos

I dislike replacing light bulbs but do it anyways. It means that I have to go to Home Depot or whatever store I end up going to, find the light bulb I need amongst the million different kinds stocked. What bites even more is actually replacing the light bulb and finding that it doesn't work! Talk about frustrating!!! I now have to go back to Home Depot to return the light bulb and get another one. Last week my husband went grocery shopping, he bought a couple of light bulbs to replace the burnt ones in the kitchen. He put the light bulbs in and they were so crooked, we were both laughing at how funny it looked. I ended up returning those ones and getting new ones this morning, actually getting two working ones and a defective one.

While at Home Depot, I spotted some gorgeous marble tile that would look great in our entry way as well as some nice hardwood flooring that would like wonderful throughout the house. I spoke with my husband on the phone today, it is our daily call when he isn't here. I mentioned to him that we need to start doing some home projects, he actually agreed somewhat. I also mentioned that a new kitchen would be nice but I think that would be pushing it. LOL.

The Joy of Kids

I am laughing so hard it hurts. Some of the things kids so innocently say is just too funny. T is walking around with a book telling me that it is diarrhea. Um, I don't think she knows what she is saying, LOL. The other day she was saying something just as silly, too bad I didn't write it down because I forgot what it was.

On Mondays, K has library at school. She brought home two books and before I could see them she told me one was fiction and the other one non fiction. All I know is that I was much older than five when I learned that! She told me the book about ducks is non fiction and the Berenstein book is fiction. Wow. This child is constantly amazing me, at school she has French, music, gym classes and she always comes home with some new knowledge. K has also been learning how to read. She was looking at a book and read on her own words like, manners, forget, about. At the store she reads the signs and read one that said cosmetics!

Face Painting

Today I volunteered to help out in K's classroom for the Halloween party. One of the mom's helping out let me know that they had volunteered me to do face painting. I thought, gee thanks.........didn't know what else to think! Funny thing is, I did a sweet job painting the cute faces of 26 kids. The mom's who volunteered saw the faces of the kids and thought I had done it before! My guess is that in the future, I will be volunteered again for face painting. I actually didn't mind, it was a lot of fun!
My husband always tells me that I create more work for myself. I have always disagreed however last night I thought otherwise. I was folding laundry and I got about half way through when I realized I hadn't washed that load. LOL. I put everything back in the basket and went downstairs and put all the laundry in the washing machine. Not sure how I manage to do these things.

A Couple of Funnies

T is playing Barbies right now and I just overheard her talking to her Barbie. She has named her Margarita?! I honestly have no idea where she heard that word, LOL.

Last week the girls were giggling away in T's bedroom. I just had to see what was going on! I walked in there and the girls were jumping on the bed. I asked them not to do that and T responds with "This is our bouncy castle". What an imagination they have. I did promptly put and end to their fun though, I didn't want either of the girls falling out of their bouncy castle.

I am a Puke Parent

A puke parent is one who has a difficult time not puking when their child had puked. Trista started eating breakfast this morning and then all of a sudden she started throwing up. The poor girl puked a good four times, and it was all the milk she drank a little earlier, ewwwww. I gave her a bath and then went to clean the kitchen floor. As I was cleaning the floor I felt like puking too. I mean give me cuts, scrapes and bloody injuries, I can handle that without even a wince. However give me puke and I'll puke too! I felt my tongue quiver and I started to gag and I ran to the kitchen window, opened it and took a deep breath and got some fresh air. Had I not done that I would definitely have thrown up. Gosh am I ever lame?! No need to answer that one.
